What should I be saying..Katanga, Hang Ten, Surf's Up?? I'm here, I've done it. I've moved to Newquay and I know all of...wait for it...2 people.
Yesterday was the big day and although I wasn't leaving Picnic Cottage for good, I was leaving and I did feel a little emotional about it obviously. I mean it was my very first 'pad' on my own, it was my married home, my office and later Picnic Cottage B & B (which it still is by the way). So, yes a bit wierd, leaving it furnished, looking lovely and Flack's Man and Van from Brixham sorting everything else out with you know...'stuff', which is what it is isn't it...just 'stuff'.
Anyhow, on arrival, after feeling a bit 'odd' leaving I felt fine arriving. The flat was left spotless and all I seem to have done is every few minutes go to the top floor lean over the balcony and breath in my sea view. I can see right across to Watergate Bay and as far as Trovose Head. Sweeping, blue sea and white surf. I love it!
I don't love...
the fact I don't know anyone and that could be a panic, it is scary, but I knew it would be. I'll just give it some effort and time and I'm sure before long I'll be a local. (?) Once I've sorted out the job situation and whats going on on that front, then I can join the tennis club, book some surf lessons and join the local gig club.
Anyway folks, if you are regular readers, I promise to write a bit more. I plan to tell you whats on offer down here, poke my nose into the scene if you know what I mean, check out the restaurants, hotels, cafes, bars, club, housing market..the lot.
And Millie? Well, I think she likes it..but...there is a problem. I found a lump today which is most probably a tumor, she gets operated and x rayed tommorrow. Please keep your fingers crossed. I love my dog more than anything.
And The Picnic Boat.... seems to be becoming more and more organised in the good hands of Frank and Constance. This makes me proud. Proud that I produced something that can work with someone else at the helm.I belive a lot more good is going to come from them and the boat and I hope all you readers embrace the change and get booking!
Well, thats all for now. When I'm all connected in my new pad they'll be no stopping me. In the mean time, I'm going to ask the Universe and 'you' lot, if you have any good connections for anything interesting job wise down this way, do let me know.
Katanga dude!

Lizzie - Congratulations on all the exciting changes, but tell me, how's Millie?
And who's running the B&B?
Warmest
Cx
