Picnic Cottage is.... still for sale and I really don't know why, because it is just so pretty, all done, all ready to run, you should buy it. Since the last time of writing I have officially dropped the price to £325,000. To you...just you...I will drop to £310,000.
Picnic Cottage at 1 Summerland Terrace, Kingswear, S. Devon, sits just up the road from the River Dart, the village shop, 3 pubs, the Royal Dart Yacht Club, minutes from the ferries up river to Totnes and just across the water from Dartmouth.
Kingswear is a quiet (at times), coastal retreat that goes beyond stunning. With the evening sunshine on the pretty town of Dartmouth and being so close\ the the beautiful river and the most amazing coastal walks, if you want a new life by the sea, this could be for you. Why not locate www.frankthemortgagegenious.com to find out how you could raise a mortgage to buy this pretty cottage.
Don't want the whole house, but want to get in on the housing ladder, then why not consider buying half the house and living in it as your home...just you have to share the growth. All options considered you see by me.
A bit more about the village of Kingswear for you...
As I said it is a quiet village that does come alive in the summer months. Scattered now with quite a few holiday homes there are also a lot of locals...maybe not the true sense of the word locals, but people who have fallen in love with the place and now live their idylic life by the water. The community spirit is great with a lively lot of village hall festivities, the annual Duck Race and the Kingswear Regatta. (You know I'm sure that those fireworks are paid for by backhanders for people wanting planning permission!!)
There's the village shop and Chris and Ella know you by name. Go into The Ship Inn and landlord Colin gives you the best welcome. Sit outside there on a sunny evening and the atmosthere of the locals and visitors alike is one of 'how bloody lucky are we to be taking in this view'. It truly is special and Dartmouth really skips a beat sometimes I feel with the wonders of lovely Kingswear.
You've got the lovely Nessie behind the bar of The Steam Packet, wonder across the road and look out across the river in a couple of weeks and watch the Red Arrows at the Dartmouth Royal Regatta.
Join the yacht club and sit and take in the atmosphere of the privalaged spot it's in.
I also challange anyone to find a more effeiant post lady. Jude works at lightning speed. It's a secret but the best post office you could ever visit.
So why oh why did I move if you are new to this blog...a rather humiliating experience with my husband and a best worst friend that's why. The husband now ex and the friend not even considered, although it'll take a long time for me to get over such a personal kick in the teeth. It feels better being away from it all for a while. A new start. A little cross that if that hadn't happened there, I wouldn't feel the compulsion to get away, but there it is.
So back to the point. Buy Picnic Cottage. View photo's at www.charleshead.com and look at Kingswear properties for sale. Contact me direct and we may be able to do a deal. I'm certain of it.
